Gourav Rakshit

Gourav Rakshit, Chief Operating Officer at Viacom18 Digital, is a driven business executive with experience developing renowned consumer brands and digital businesses. He is in charge of advancing the network's digital enterprises' growth agenda as part of his responsibilities. With VOOT, Gourav has created a solid and resilient digital ecosystem since joining Viacom18 Digital Ventures. He was the President and chief executive officer of People Group's, which owns and runs Shaadi.com, before joining Viacom18. He has worked at Shaadi.com for 11 years. He has contributed to developing one of India's most recognizable brands and a strong consumer subscription strategy, as well as one of the few successful P&Ls in the Indian internet ecosystem. Gourav is a graduate of the University of Rochester and IIM Ahmedabad, has a thorough understanding of digital disruption, and has a track record of accurately forecasting subscription growth.

Gourav began his career with Nestle and had over 20 years of expertise in the FMCG, IT, and consumer technology sectors. Before joining the People Group, he worked at Planetasia and Infosys Consulting. He initially encountered the media & tech sector at Planetasia, and at Infosys, he successfully oversaw consultancy engagements for various consumer customers, including Apple, Safeway, and Wells Fargo. Gourav has also demonstrated leadership qualities on the field and is a true sports fan. He has played for school and college teams in sports like football, rugby, pool, and table tennis, often serving as their captain. Even Gourav Rakshit won the gold in Racketlon in the 40+ singles category of the Thailand Open 2023. He is a working professional constantly looking for new ways to pursue his love of sports.
