Beginning her journey as a content writer, Sharma has donned multiple roles, from being a coordinator and assistant director to a media associate and producer. Sharma is a Delhi University alumnus who later pursued television journalism at the IIJNM. Alongside studying journalism, she also worked with V- Angels Tech Limited as a content writer from 2006 to 2007. While working as a content writer for the company, Sharma oversaw writers and content developers and the quality of content produced. Her work also entailed coordinating with vendors, experts on the subject matter, design heads, and typesetters. She was also involved in conceiving and writing samples for books, magazines, and reference materials. At the same time, she also proofread and edited the necessary documents.

In 2009, after completing her journalism course, Sharma joined National Geographic Channel as an assistant producer and coordinator. During her stint there, she worked on the channel’s documentary show ‘History of Whatever.’ The show, bankrolled by NGC Network Pvt Ltd, was aired on Fox History and Entertainment Channels. Her role as an assistant producer and coordinator involved handling all production-related work, overseeing and synchronizing all activities within her department. She also designed scripts and concepts, looked after technical work, managed and motivated the teams. She was also involved in planning and developing content as per the demand.

In 2018, Sharma served as the chief assistant director at Motion Pictures & Films. She worked on the 2019 film ‘Firrkie.’ Her work entailed managing production, post-production, and pre-production of the movie. She was also responsible for marketing and promotional activities for the flick. Along with her other roles, the creative producer has also been working as a media associate with the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development since 2010 itself. The institute is a part of the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, New Delhi. During her stint with the organization, Sharma has served as a writer, director, and producer of the documentary ‘Blind Ally,’ based on the lives of women residing in Andheria Mor in Delhi.

She has also worked as the writer, director, and producer of the film ‘Travesty of Justice- here Denial is the Rule.’ The flick focuses on the current policy entailing free of cost treatment of the poor in hospitals enjoying grants and subsidies by the government. Sharma has also scripted, helmed, and produced the film ‘Devil in the Details,’ which tries to find out if such grants are implemented and provided to deserving children.
