Rohini Chandra

Rohini is a queer woman, a 1st generation Asian-Indian-Bengali-American, and a 2nd generation Asian-Indian-American. She grew up in a strict South Asian-American household and community. She studied Political Science at Rutgers Newark (including Global Affairs and Human Rights). She started singing at the age of six and learned Indian music from her local aunties. Singing in the school choirs in New Jersey also boosted her interest in music. Then she started exploring music in India and America. She then got herself trained in American and Indian singing, songwriting, and production, and performed on both live and social media platforms. Storytelling also became her passion when she was a child. She was fascinated by classic cartoons like “The Adventures of TinTin” etc. She also loves to write and gives it a melody. She creates her films and music, acts in commercials, and does more theatrical projects or Film and TV shows.

She creates content that is enlightening and impactful. Rohini's content has received lots of interest. This has been recognized by magazines including Voyage LA, Shoutout LA, LiveWire, Travel & Leisure, India Currents, Obvious, and Travel Magazine. She has received accolades for her travel documentaries, short films, and monologue series. She initially struggled to continue her passion along with the job because her passion was initially unpaid. But she believed in self-motivation and self-discipline and worked hard to get recognized. Hence, she is well recognized for her work as a working actor, singer-songwriter, and filmmaker who’s been involved in many projects.
