Neelam Chauhan was born on 7^th August 1977 in Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana state. She belongs to a Rajput family which is basically from Rajasthan and migrated to Hyderabad before her birth. During her school days, Neelam was very popular for her extra-curricular activities.

She used to be very active in dancing and acting in plays. She has also volunteered her school in gymnastics. After schooling, she did her bachelor’s degree in Arts. Modelling was the career that attracted her the most and so after college, she started pursuing it with all her heart and mind.

Neelam Chauhan was married to Rishi Chauhan, however, the marriage did not last long due to some issues in Rishi's family.

The fame she got from this show has led her way straight to the Bollywood. In her very first movie, she got to share the screen with the superstar Salman Khan in an item song for the movie ‘Kyon Ki' . The movie was released in 2005 and got lots of appreciation.

After that, Neelam grabbed a lead role in the Bollywood film ‘Mumbai Salsa’, which was released in 2007. The movie didn’t do very well at the box office but Neelam's fame was soaring high.
