Bimla Kumari is an Indian-born actress who has played supporting roles in many Bollywood movies. She was active in the industry from 1936 to 1962. Bimla Kumari’s filmography includes: Baghi Sipahi (1936), Milap (1937), Double Cross (1938), Zambo Ka Beta (1939), Prem Nagar (1940), Jhuti Sharm (1940), Gorilla (1953), Do Ustad (1959), Sahib Bibi Aur Gulam (1962). Despite not landing a leading role, she holds the unique honour of playing a role in what has come to be known as the three most beautiful Bollywood songs ever made: ‘Hawa Me Udta Jaye’ (Barsaat), ‘Dheere Se Aaja’ (Albela) and ‘Meeri Jaan O Meri Jaan’ (Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam).
Each song displays her skill to deliver a charming performance across multiple genres. Outside the industry, Bimla Kumari is a private person and very little is known about her personal life.
