She was born on the 21st of September in Bombay, India. Azra studied till 6th class at St. Teresa’s Convent High School, Santacruz, and then moved to Delhi to live with her grandmother. Then she completed her schooling at St. Francis School of Pahadi Bhojla, Delhi, and moved back to Mumbai in 1955. In 1957, Azra made her acting debut in the film Mother India. In 1958 he acted in the movie Taxi 555. In 1959, she debut as a female leading role in the film Ghar Ghar Ki Baat. Some of her other well-known films are Love in Shimla (1960), Junglee (1961), Bandish (1969), My Love (1970), and Ilzaam (1970). On January 1971, she got married and cut ties with the film industry.

Azra has given around 15 years of service to the film industry.
