was born on 29 August 1917 to the late Sayyed Mohammad Ahmamed and his wife, Maryam, in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, India. He had a wife named Mubarak Nanji. As well as acting, he was a director. He studied Urdu and English with filmmaking at the Aligarh Muslim University. In 1940, he debuted with Aurat, the first film he starred in as an actor. As a movie star during the 1980s and 1990s, Nisar Ahmad Ansari starred in many films, including Oonch Neech Beech (1998), Anjaam Khuda Jaane (1998), Pakhandee (1983), Wahan Ke Log (1967), Black Cat (1959), Crime and Punishment (1974). He was more commonly known as NA Ansari or Ansari. He worked on about 50 films between 1964 and 1985.
He was also the Director of Khuda Jaane, Munzaraat, and The Great Fire of London. The rapidly changing times that gradually brought about Ansari's distance from the film industry meant he grew further and further removed from the industry as the seventies wore on. He passed away peacefully in 1993 while visiting Canada with his son.
