Hriday Nath Gurto was a theatre artist born in September 1934. He was the son of Nanak Chand Gurtoo. Hriday played an integral part in the growth and explosion of the theatre scene in Kashmir. He joined the theatre group ‘Kala Kendra’ at an early age, where he was shaped into an actor. He performed in well-known plays, including Uljhan, Tantkoar, Lool, Fun Te Funkaar, and Aaram Haram Hai. His passion for radio inspired him to perform in several radio dramas. His outstanding television appearances include Dastar, Shabrang, and Insaf. Additionally, he appeared in telefilms, including Master Ji, Heemal Nagray, and Muthi Bhar Khak. Additionally, he appeared in Mehjoor, a film sponsored by the Children's Film Society. Hriday had his untimely demise on the 13th of May 1991 in Udhumpur at the age of 57.
