Faqeer Nabi, also known as Faqir Nabi, was a popular Indian and Afghan film actor. He was born in 1953 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He has a daughter named Nazma Nabi and a wife. Nabi made his film debut with "Siah Moye Jalali” (1978), an Afghan film. Initially, he struggled to get roles in the Hindi Television Industry.
Mukhesh Khanna helped him get a role at the then-popular superhero TV series "Shaktimaan" (1997-2005), where he portrayed 'Kapala,' an antagonist. This role made him popular all over India and was appreciated by all. He then started working with Bheesma Production House, owned by Mukhesh Khanna. Moreover, he got chances to play side roles in many of the shows under this production house. One of the most popular shows was "Aryamaan- Brahmand Ka Yodha" (2002), aired on DD National. He also got the chance to act in several Bollywood films, including Hrithik Roshan's hit film, "Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai" (2000). He further appeared in the films like “Akhtar, the Joker” (1981), “Dust” (2016), and also an unfinished film "Soqot.” He died from COVID-19 on 26 June 2020 in Kabul, Afghanistan. Although he was seeking treatment for about three weeks, he lost his battle against the virus.
