Kaajal Oza Vaidya is an Indian author, screenwriter, journalist, and radio author from Ahmedabad, India. She was born on 29th September 1966 in Mumbai, India. Her father is a famous journalist Digant Oza. She married her husband Sanjay Vaidya on 22nd June, 1993 and has a son named Tathaagat. She graduated from Gujarat University in 1986 with a degree in English and Sanskrit. She also pursued a post-graduate certificate from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. She initially worked as an actor and also a journalist. Her debut as a writer was in the form of a short story collection called ‘Sambandh.
To Akash’ in 2005, followed by her second publication, a collection of poetry called ‘Sheshyatra.’ She reached the height of popularity with her first novel named ‘Yog Viyog’ serialized in the weekly Chitralekha. Also, she worked on several plays in her career and as a creative writing teacher as a visiting faculty in t Gujarat University in the department of Master of Developmental Communication. Her works including novels, essays, short stories, dialogues, scripts of soap operas and films can be counted up to more than 56. Her publishes novels are: Krishnayan (2010), Sannata Nu Sarnamu (2011), Purna Apurna, Draupadi, Shukra – Mangal, Satya – Asatya, Dariyo Ek Taras No, Lilu Sagpan Lohi Nu, Pot Potani Pankhar (Part 1 & 2), Tara Vina na Shaher Ma, Ek Saanj Na Sarname, Parijat Nu Parodh, Chhal (Part 1 -2), Maun Raag, Madhyabindu, Chahera PAchhalno Chahero (2013), Purvardh (2014), Symphony of Silence (2014), Rag Vairag (2018).
Kaajal’s essay and article collections are- Mari Mummy Mara Pappa..., Sangath Ekbijano, Satya Ekbijanu, Sukh Ekbijanu, Marji Ekbijani, Shradhdhha Ekbijani, Ek Bijane Gamta Rahiye (2009), Man — Minus Thi Plus, Searchlight, Get Well Soon, Tujse Hoti Bhi To, Kya Hoti Shikayat Mujhko?, and many more. She has been a journalist for several publications such as Gujarat Daily, Sandesh, The Indian Express, Loksatta-Jansatta, Samkalin, Abhiyan Magazine and Sambhav. She wrote for many columns as well, including Gujarat Mitra, Divya Bhaskar, Kutchmitra, Calcutta Halchal, Janmabjjomi Pravasi, and many more. She gave speeches across Gujarat and hosted the radio show ‘Kaajal@9’ on channel 94.3 in My FM Ahmedabad.
