Raeesh Maniar

Raeesh Maniar was born on August 19th, 1966, in the town of Killa Pardi in Gujarat. He became an extremely talented Gujarati language ghazal poet, translator, playwright, columnist, compere, lyricist, and scriptwriter. His first experience with writing started when he was 11 years old, and he began composing poems, and soon his work was published in the paper Gujarat Samachar. From 1993 onwards, Raeesh worked as a doctor, focusing on child development and psychology. However, from 2013 onwards, Raeesh quit his medical career to concentrate on writing. He has worked as a writer for Gujarati films and newspapers. Raeesh is particularly famous for his Ghazals in Gujarati. Maniar also translated the works of several Urdu authors into Gujarati.

Some of his famous works and compositions include songs like Aa To Prem Chhe, Vishwasghat, Polampol, Musafir, Vitamin She, Je Pan Kahish Te Sachu Kahish, and "Thai Dod Dod Gali Vaat Mo and books like Kafiyanagar, Shabda Mara Swabhavma J Nathi, Aam Lakhvu Karaave Alakh Ni Safar, Ghazal: Roop Ane Rang, Mahol Mushayra No, as well as works on child psychology like Baal Uchher Ni Barakhadi, and Tame ane Tamaru Nirogi Balak. Awards and Recognition he has received include the Shayda Award in 2001, the Narmad Suvarna Chandrak award in 2012, and the Kalapi Award in 2016.
