Sarmita dutta is a Bengali singer. She was born on the 16th July 1992. She was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Her hometown is in Ashoknagar, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She currently resides in Dum Dum. She completed her schooling from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, India. Her mother's name is Smt. Soma Dutta. Her husband's name is Prasenjit Biswas. Her hobbies include singing and traveling. Through hard work and determination, she made her TV debut on a reality show, Dil Hai Hindustani (season 2), aired on Star Plus. This show started on 7th July 2018. She is one of the most versatile and hardworking singers, having God given talent over Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Semi-Classical Music, Bengali, Hindi Adhunik, etc.

She also started her YouTube channel, SARMITA Official, on 25th January 2015. She stood among the Top 10 Contestants on Zee Bangla Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Music Challenge.
