Bekkam Venugopal

Bekkam Venugopal was born in an agricultural family in Acchampet, Mahabub Nagar on 27th April ’74. Bekkam is the only son in the family. He did his schooling from Acchampet government school. He completed his B.Sc degree from Hyderabad. His aunt who lived in Hyderabad used to work on the sets of Padmalaya Studios. He used to watch all the Telugu and Hindi movies in his free time.

After his graduation, he started a small business with a small shop near ‘Anand Cine Services’. He developed relations with the technicians and other people of the film industry. He even got a small role in the movie ‘ One By Two Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ in the year 1995. Bekkam got a job as a Data Entry Operator in Telugu first satellite channel Gemini T.V. Later he was promoted to Production Manager in the channel.

After working together for 3.5 years Shivaji got a lead role in the movie ‘Shraddanjali’, while Bekkam was the Production Manager for the movie. In the year 1999, Benkkam got married to ‘Bhavitha’. They have two daughters - Manasa and Moksha. Bekkam wanted to direct “Hyderabadi Girls’ but due to insufficient funds he couldn’t do it.

Later in 2006, Shivaji asked Benkkam why didn’t he start producing movies. The idea was taken well by Bekkam and with ‘Tata Birla Madhyo Laila’ starring Shivaji his journey of a Producer started with the production house ‘Lucky Media’. The movie was a hit. He has produced 5 movies - ‘Tata Birla Madhyo Laila’ in 2006, ‘Satyabhama’ in 2007, ‘Maa Ayana Chanti Pilladu’ in 2008, ‘Brahmalokam To Yamalokam Via Bhulokam’ in 2010, ‘Mem Vayasuku Vacham’ in 2012, ‘Prema Ishq Kaadhal’ in 2013,’ Cinema Choopistha Mava’ in 2015.

His movie ‘Cinema Choopistha Mava’ is a super hit with both critical and commercial success.
