Plot

Siddharth is a graduate. He gets the Panchayat official post in a village, Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam. So, he moves from Chennai to this remote village. Siddharth is surprised by the village’s customs. He is expected to attend functions where he was not even invited. Many times he feels low, and even decides to quit the job and leave that place due to the customs of the village and the expectations of the villagers. What happens next? Star Performance

Abishek has done a decent job as Siddharth. His expressions are admirable. He used his stand-up comedy techniques in many scenes, where he needs to be serious but make the audience laugh. Chetan and Devadarshini did their best, and their comedy timing is appreciable. Anandsami is decent in his role.

Analysis

It is a neat remake of Panchayat. The makers have written the characters neatly. Siddharth’s role is finely penned as an innocent, yet smart decision-maker. The village head’s character is also neatly written with a dual mentality with Siddharth. The makers have touched on all the essential social issues, including the women empowerment and education related to women’s menstrual cycle. The visuals are neat. The BGM is simple yet excellent. There are a few flaws including a particular character’s hype. Yet, all those negative points vanish as the screenplay and the performances are perfect.
