The story seems to have been inspired by the invention of Ramar Pillai, the inventor of herbal petrol, but was put down after a couple of decades. Ravi Prakasam is keen on inventing a cost-effective fuel spending all his time. While he is said to have invented the cost-effective fuel, an MLA named Vetrivel tries to get the formula from him. Amidst pressures, he had to safeguard his family too. The story is set in a mixed genre, including political, family, and social drama.

Prasanna’s performance is good and he expressed so well and proved his versatility. It didn’t show Prasanna as a fraudulent person and that’s where the story stands. Thiravam is the web series debut for Prasanna and it worked partially.
