Tamil Tv Show Thaka Thimi Tha

Thaka Dimi Tha is the first show based on classical dance on a TV Channel. ThakaDimi Tha is aired on Jaya TV Every Sunday, from 8am. Actress Bhanupriya hosts this show which begins in 2001. The Writer of this show is Churchill Pandian and Director was Radhika Surjith. ThakaDimi Tha concentrates on Bharatanatyam. The show is aimed to make the common people aware on BharathaNatyam and promote budding talent and help youngsters to learn dance and also gives an opportunity for them to present their talent.

The show almost reached more than 250 episodes. People from Tamil Nadu, Other states and even dancers from abroad took part in the show. The winners of previous participants meet in semi-final Thaka Dhimi Tha. The main focus is on the choreography of Bharathanatyam. There are three rounds in the show and Each episode has a segment called Celluloid choice and Every Episode. The talents are selected on based on choreographic skills, by dance teachers like Ranganayaki Jayaram, Chitra Visveswaran, Lakshmi Viswanathan, Krishnakumari Narendran, Udipi Lakshminarayanan,V Dhananjayan, Saroja Vaidyanathan, Krishnaveni Lakshmanan, N Ramani, Dr.Saraswathi, Vasantha Vaikunth, Gita Kasthuri, Ranjani, Lakshmi-Saraswathi, Madhuvanthy, Lakshmanan, Gopika and Shobhana Bhalachandra and famous dancer Padma Subramaniam.
