Nila is a Tamil soap opera that was very successful due to its unique storyline. It premiered on Sun TV on 18th March; 2019. It was the remake of the serial Anandaragam. Nila is a beautiful and intelligent girl. She lives with her stepmother Kousalya, father/uncle Rajasekhar and her twin sister Madhi. Nila’s parents had died due to an accident. Actress Bavithra has played a dual role in the serial both as Nila and as Madhi. Nila has a joint family in which her cousins, aunts, etc. also live. Nila has a love interest named Karthick. Karthik and Nila both decide to pursue their education from abroad. Nila’s aunt Kousalya with her brother Narayanan plots against Nila. She doesn’t want Nila to pursue her dreams. She always tries to create obstacles for her.
Kousalya, with Karthik’s mother i.e., Neelambari, who is a rich woman, doesn’t want Nila to become her daughter-in-law. So, Neelambari joins hands with Kousalya and tries to plot against her. Kousalya tries to show her motherly affection to Nila and wants to shatter her dreams. Will Nila realize her ambition? Will Rajasekhar and Karthik be able to save Nila from Neelambari’s treachery? This all forms the plot.
