Kamala is a film turned into a Marathi serial that was telecast on Colors Marathi. It revolves around a woman named Kamala, who finds herself in a cruel world which only sees her for her monetary worth. In a village where the trade for flesh is prevalent, Kamala meets a journalist named Devashish, who bids her to spread awareness among the people about the horrible crime of treating humans as objects.
The story also focuses on Devashish's wife, who faces several problems and has her own demons with her husband involved in such an ordeal. Things take a turn for worse when her husband decides to marry Kamala upon the advice of his lawyer. How both the women deal with the whole situation constitutes the rest of the plot.
