Raja Shivchhatrapati is an Indian historical drama which was the first-ever TV serial to be aired on a Marathi TV channel STAR PRAVAH. The first episode was broadcasted on the channel in November 2008, with the show completing its 214 episodes in 2009. The duration of each episode is approximately 20 minutes and is considered a trend-setter for the historical dramas in Marathi.

The show focuses on the founder of the Maratha Empire and India’s one of the most brave-hearted, sensible and progressive rulers, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Raja Shivchhatrapati depicts the struggles of Shivaji Maharaj to form an independent empire and the tactics used by them while fighting against the mighty Mughal Army.

The show became so loved and popular among the audience that it returned on public demand from February 2017 to October 2017. During the pandemic of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the series was again re-telecast every day from April 3, 2020, at 09:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
