Season 1 is about the disagreements and bickering between a mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law. Mayavathyamma often has daily household disputes with her daughter-in-law Mohanavalli and Arjunan, and her children try to resolve them. Despite all this, both the ladies share mutual respect and love. On the other hand, the frequent visits of Arjunan’s best friend, Kamalasanan, Mohanavalli’s mother, Komalavalli, and Arjunan’s sister, Kokila, also add more fun to this hilarious joyride.

In Season 2, the whole family shifts to a new house after having a dispute with the landowner. Meenakshi, the daughter of Arjunan, marries a lazy man, Aadhi Shankaran. His father is a poor NRI with debts. Meenakshi kept this a secret from her family and hoped to change the traits of her husband. She also bickers with her mother-in-law, just like her mother, but shares a deep bond of love and respect. Later, her father-in-law became mentally ill after winning a lottery that ended their debts.

On the other hand, the rich brother of Arjunan, who also owns the house in which Mayavathi and her family reside, arrives back from abroad with his wife and three children. Meanwhile, the only son of Arjunan and Mohanvalli, Kannan, falls in love with a Christian girl, Rosamma. The family disapproves of their marriage but later agrees to the dowry. They decided to pay the loan taken for the wedding of Meenakshi with the dowry.

However, their plan backfires when Kannan unknowingly rejects the dowry. Later, Meenakshi gives birth to triplets and then goes to the UK as a nurse to pay off the loan. It is one of the oldest and longest-running Malayalam TV series and won the Kerala State Television Award for Best Comedy Show. Initially, it started in a Sitcom format and then switched to prime time soap opera in 2018.
