The story revolves around Dr.Ishita Iyer, a Tamil dentist, and Raman Bhalla, a Punjabi CEO. Raman and Ishita belong to different cultures and lives in Delhi. Soon when Ishita came to know she is infertile, she forms a motherly bond with Ruhi, Raman’s daughter, abandoned by his first wife, Shagun Arora. Ruhi calls her Ishima, and Raman and Ishita come closer then fall in love with each other. When Shagun came to know that she gives trouble to them and later reunites with Bhalla’s family with Adi, and Ishita gives birth to a daughter with Raman, which they name Pihu. Later, the lawyer of the society, Nidhi, kidnaps Pihu. In the process of rescuing Pihu, they both forget about Ruhi; thus, Nidhi also Kidnaps Ruhi and takes her away. Seven years later, Ishita lives in Australia with her childhood friend Mani and her niece Aliya. Aliya is the secretary of grown-up Ruhi, where Ruhi lives with the torturous Nidhi. Ishita struggles to find, and she unites her with Raman. Ruhi comes back and lives with Ishita and Raman with Bhalla Family in India. Shahgun coincidentally marries Mani. Adi falls in evil deeds and forcibly married to Roshni in Khandarpur. Aliya came to know about this at her wedding and decides to marry Adi. They are then married. After one- year Mani with Shahgun, Aliya, Pihu lives in Bangkok, Thailand. Eventually, Pihu meets Ishita and accepts her as her mother. When they return to India, they struggle with Sohail, Nidhi’s brother, and Ruhi’s love interest. He wants revenge on Bhalla’s family and tries to uses Ruhi for his plans. Then the cops arrest him. Raman is also mistakenly accused of Mani’s death, and his innocence came out when Mani brought alive. Pihu accidentally pushed her cousin Ananya from the stairs. Ishita accepts the blame and was arrested and imprisoned when Ananya dies. Two years later, Bhalla’s family visits Hungary as a Business trip. That later turns a scam for Simmi and Param, who takes revenge on Ananya’s death. Simmi torture Pihu when she is in the boarding school. Depressed, Raman gives his company to Param. Ishita was released for her illness. Simmi instigates everyone against Ishita and gives drugs to Raman to make him lose his memories and tries to frame Aliya in Murder's case. It failed, and Ishita exposes it in front of everyone. Ishita attempts to punish Nikhil and lose her eyes in the progression. Raman recovers from the drugs, and Simmi finds out Pihu was the reason for Ananya’s death and handovers her to the juvenile custody.

Adi conspires against Raman and thrown out of the house. He kidnaps his first wife, which makes Ishitha shoot him. As a reason, Ishita was thrown out of the house. Pihu visits to see Ishita, who now shelters the pregnant Roshni. The Bhallas family wants to get back Roshni as she carries Adi’s child. She puts a condition to them to accept Ishita if she should hand over the child in their custody. They accept it, and Mihika gets Adi’s child. Ruhi receives a marriage proposal from Rohan. But then he mistakes Aliya for Ruhi and falls in love with her. Widowed, Aliya refuses it initially for the wishes of her family and later accepts. Ruhi falls in love with Karan, Rohan’s brother. Then it is revealed that they are nephews of Dr.Rajat who died due to his humiliation. His wife, who needs to take revenge on Bhalla’s family, plans to use this situation. But Rohan refuses and stays on the side of Bhallas. Karan brings Yug to start a confusion between Aliya and Rohan as Yug is Adi’s look-alike. But Ishita encounters Yug.

Soon after agreeing to Rohan’s opinions, Karan falls in love with Ruhi. An insecure Rohan, when Aliya reminds Adi, tries to abuse her, and her family rescues Aliya. She marries Yug, which results in several crises. But it is solved, and Raman leaves for a business meeting. News arrives that Raman's flight crashed with no chance of his survival. Here arises the conspiracy, Arjit Saxena kidnaps Raman and drops him from the building, and Ishita rushes him to the hospital. Raman recovers from a coma and brought home due to the confusion between him and Shardul, created by Natasha. Ruhi discovers that she could not conceive like Ishita during her marriage with Karan. Sudha initially refuses for their marriage but then accepts, and the series came to an end when Ruhi and Karan marries and adopts a child. This lead to the remarriage of Raman and Ishita.
