Magalu Janaki is a Kannada language television show that airs on Colors Super. The show is written and directed by renowned film and television director TN Seetharam who is known for his gripping stories and family drama such as Mayamruga and Manvantara. The plot of Magalu Janaki revolves around a daughter who gets separated from her father when she is only an infant. She grows up in another household and becomes a police officer. She doesn’t see or know the whereabouts of her father for 20 years. One day her father reaches out to her and tries to help her but she refuses to take any help from him. The rest of the plot is an emotional story of an estranged relationship between a father and a daughter. The show started airing in 2018 on the channel Colors Super and soon became one of the few most popular Kannada shows because of its strong writing. The show’s title song which released on YouTube went viral with over four lakhs views. This kind of fame is new to Kannada television.Â
