Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is a long-running Indian musical reality TV show that began airing on Zee TV in 1995. It holds the distinction of being India's oldest singing reality show. The 2018 season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa premiered on October 13, 2018, on Zee TV. Initially, the judging panel consisted of Shekhar Ravjiani, Wajid Khan, and Sona Mohapatra. However, in November 2018, Richa Sharma replaced Mohapatra due to scheduling conflicts. The show featured 15 finalists and 3 wild card entries. Ishita Vishwakarma from Team Shekhar emerged as the winner. Tanmay Chaturvedi from Team Sona/Team Richa was the first runner-up, while Sonu Gill from Team Wajid secured the second runner-up position. The top 6 contestants included Sahil Solanki, Aishwarya Pandit, and wild card entry Aslam Abdul Majeed. Other contestants faced elimination throughout the season, including Jyoti Sharma, Anmol Jaswal, Gurbinder Singh, Pratiksha Deka, Mandakini Takhellambam, Menuka Poudel, Bharat K Rajesh, Suprit Chakraborty, Maharshi Pandya, and Anushka Banerjee. Rajvinder Kaur chose to quit the competition. The show also featured a Grand Jury comprising 15 music industry professionals, including singers, composers, and music directors. Some notable members were Arpita Mukherjee, Pawni Pandey, Asees Kaur, Debojit Saha, and Suzanne D'Mello.
