Ishita Vishawakarma

The young talent, Ishita Vishwakarma, is a playback singer who has ruled the hearts of millions with her soulful singing. She rose to popularity after securing the title of the musical reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Ishita was born on 10th May 2002 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Ishita is the daughter of Anjani Vishwakarma, a bank employee, and Tejal Vishwakarma, a professional singer. She has a younger sister, Ishani Vishwakarma.

Ishita comes from a music-loving family, where her grandfather, Ganesh Prasad Vishwakarma, is an avid music lover and so her father. Ishita’s mother is a trained singer and has done several shows. Influenced by her mother, Ishita developed a great interest in music, and so her musical career began when she was three years old. Before getting formal training, she took music lessons from her mother. Along with a singing career, Ishita is pursuing her studies from Kendriya Vidyalaya in the commerce stream.

Ishita Vishwakarma made her big debut through Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs in the year 2015. She was 12 years old when she kicked off her singing career in the Zee TV’s show. Ishita reached the top 10 of the show but unfortunately couldn’t advance further. Then in 2016, she took part in the singing program, Awaaz of Madhya Pradesh season 2. After a hard-fought battle, Ishita ended up as the first runner-up of the show. To embark on her musical journey further, she took part in the Zee Yuva Marathi’s singing program Sangeet Samrat. Ishita reached up to the top 5 levels and faced an undesirable defeat.

But the loss didn’t stop her from achieving her dream of becoming a playback singer. She entered the Star Plus’s singing reality show Dil Hai Hindustani Season 2 in mid-2018. Ishita battled with the finest talents in the country. But she got eliminated from the show after reaching the top 20 spots. Instead of worrying over the losses, Ishita Vishwakarma returned to the stage of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Ishita, along with her mother Tejal Vishwakarma, auditioned for the Zee TV’s musical reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2018.

Both got selected during the auditions and advanced to the further rounds. Ishita’s mother got eliminated from the show quite early, but Ishita was going strong in her league even though being the youngest contestant of the show. She showcased her outstanding talents and wowed the judges and the jury members. Ishita got selected as one among the five finalists for the finale. Eventually, her hard work paid off when she got crowned as the winner of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2018 along with a 25 lakh cash prize and Hyundai car.

Ishita Vishwakarma is also a social worker and is steadily doing several shows for social matters, like child marriage, woman’s safety, and causes for the girl child. Adding to her feats is, she is the brand ambassador for Madhya Pradesh Government’s Laado Abhiyan program. They also chose her as the ambassador for the Voter’s awareness campaign, Jabalpur. She sang the song Vishwakarma Namo Namah in Maa and Kachre Wali Gaasi from Chhapar Phad Ke. She has rendered voice for many short films and music albums, including Meri Aashiqui. Ishita is proficient in Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati languages and plays guitar herself. Ishita has been so close to victory many times before achieving her goals. But all the while, she never quit, and what kept her going was her love for music.
