Indian Martial Arts- Ek Itihaas is a knowledge-based Hindi show that airs on the new entertainment channel Epic. The show airs two days a week, Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30 pm. Epic is a newly launched channel by the Epic Television Networks Pvt Ltd. The channel shows programmes based on Indian history, Indian mythology and folklore. The channel is known to show informative programmes with original contents based on Indian culture, movies, sports, etc.

The channel has also been critically acclaimed for its comprehensive mix of non-fiction content that displays an ever-increasing fan base that discovers and imbibes the pride in the cultural diversity of India. India has a rich history of Kings and Emperors who have conquered and re-conquered our lands through generations. She tells us every minute detail about these ancient art forms, the history behind them, the weapons used, the specifications and criticality of these weapons and how they are practiced in India today to keep the tradition alive.

She also talks to different institutes that teach the art form now, the different stages of the form and how they were used in battlefields and how they manage to keep the legacy live through generations. The list of ancient martial arts is endless. But some of these art forms that the show features are Kalaripayattu which is a martial art form originated in Kerala during the 3rd century BC and purely for the intention of combat. The art form is practiced mainly in parts of Tamil Nadu.

Lathikhela is a form of Bengali martial arts which involves a lathi or a stick which was used for defense during the feudal era. Silambam is another martial art form which originated in Tamil Nadu a several thousand years before and uses a special kind of stick. Mardani Khel which is a Maharashtrian martial art form from the 16th century using a sword called Pata. Gatka, a part of the Sikh tradition in Punjab uses sticks against swords with the intention to offend the enemy.
