We are all well aware of the fact that in a not so distant past, India was a British colony. Several of our brave men and women sacrificed their lives to earn us the freedom that we enjoy today. However, besides the tyranny of the rulers, our country also faced several problems from within the nation. In those difficult times, criminals belonging to communities like Thuggees, Bheels, Pindharis, and Budhuks, began to rise. They wreaked havoc across the country. They terrorized the people as well as the government and resorted to violence to fulfill their demands.
As the crime began to rise unprecedentedly, the government was forced to take strict action against them, and passed several laws to put an end to the criminal activities.
