Gaura is a young and beautiful woman. She is brave but has one weakness- ghosts and spirits. She avoids any activity which includes darkness and anything that would attract ghosts. Gaura’s mother is looking for a groom to get her married soon. Som is a young and handsome man. Her mother, Rekha, is looking for marriage prospects for Som.

Rekha’s sister-in-law and grandmother are also searching for the perfect bride for Som. Rekha dislikes her sister-in-law, Kanchan. She wants Som to marry a woman of her choice. Kanchan meets Gaura and likes her. She chooses her as Som’s bride. But Som likes Twinkle. She proposes to Som to marry her. Som accepts to marry her, but Kanchan and his grandmother, Ganga, ask him to change his decision. Under the pressure of family, he accepts to marry Gaura. Rekha does not like Gaura as she was chosen by Kanchan and Ganga. Twinkle conspires for the wedding to stop but does not succeed. She hatches all kinds of plans to stop their wedding but fails. She was very disappointed that her plans did not work. She prayed to God to turn her into a ghost. Miraculously, her prayers were answered, and she died. But her ghost remained in the house.

Only Gaura could see Rekha’s ghost. Rekha scares Gaura as she knows that she is afraid of ghosts. Gaura’s odd behavior makes Kanchan and Ganga realize that Rekha’s ghost is present in the house. After the marriage, Som would not stop spending time with Twinkle. She realizes that she should free Som of this marriage so that he can marry his love, Twinkle. Rekha and Twinkle are elated to hear this news. Rekha was happy that Gaura took this decision. Kanchan and Ganga do not take this decision well. They are furious at Gaura and plan to stop this wedding somehow. Rekha overhears their plan of swapping Twinkle with Gaura. She tries to inform Gaura but can not as her voice is taken by Lord Yamraj because she refuses to go to heaven. Rekha stops the brides from swapping so that Twinkle and Som marry.

After their marriage, Twinkle’s actions were very selfish. She was not at all family-oriented as Rekha wanted her to be. Rekha now regretted that she chose her as her daughter-in-law. She was proud of Gaura, who has now overcome her fear of ghosts and works as a ghost hunter. Gaura meets a man, Varun, who has feelings for her. Gaura prays for Rekha to go into the light. Rekha’s last wish was to marry Som with Twinkle, which was fulfilled and now she can finally go to heaven in peace. Som, however, has a soft heart for Gaura and requests her to give another chance at love with Varun.
