The satire in this show is aimed at our society, at our politics and our leader through a fictionalised village called Lapataganj where the common man of India struggle everyday and yet manages to keep a smile on his face. The show portrayed the everyday ailments in the life of the common man in a very common setup of a typical fictionalized Indian village- Lapataganj.

Lapataganj - Ek Baar Phir was the second season of the very popular series Lapataganj – Sharad Joshi Ki Kahaniyon Ka Pata. The series was first broadcast on 10 June 2013 on SAB TV and the last episode was aired on 15 August 2014. The entire series was based on the novel with the same name written by Sharad Joshi. The name Lapataganj means a lost place, and in the series it is a small imaginary town somewhere in India. The people who live there are completely forgotten by the system and the state institutions, and are left to live on their own, as they know best. Even though they struggle daily to manage the basic life necessities, they are still very happy and always find the funny and bright side of life.
