Afsane is a serial been directed by LalitBehl, and the serial is written by his wife, NavnindraBehl. Both of them acted in the serial produced for Doordarshan.They Portrayed various characters in the serial.The serial took place in 1993.The Author was Ravideepam.The Serial concept was showing the poor couple searching their daughter. The story line consists of the struggles their faced while searching for their lost daughter. LalitBehl is an actor-director, producer and writer starting acting as a college student and he formed a theatre group at Kapurthala.
He shifted to Delhi after doing a diploma in Indian theatre. He has produced and directed for Doordharsan Telefilms like television serials including afsane. Lalitbehl’s son KanuBehl’s is writer-director. He left his job into an arena of television as a free lane producer-director. Navninder Behl was born on 30 Oct 1949 in Delhi. She was a director, actor and writer. She also got involved in theatre at Patiala .
She has experience of 30 years as the writer, actor and director in the TV industry. She also has 15 years’ experience in film industry. She has directed films and written scripts for Television programmes for Doordharsan in which the serial TV afsane got famous. Both the couple played the tremendous job which shows that what society make a poor couple suffer and how it’s being difficult for the poor couple to survive in society.
