Plot
Loot revolves around the life of a woman named Molly Wells. At 45 years old, she divorces her husband due to him cheating against her while still being married to her. After the divorce, she becomes second in the list of the wealthiest women in the U.S. and decides to spend her 87 billion dollars by travelling the world along with her assistant Nicholas. However, after the fun is all over, she begins having an existential crisis. She then remembers the charitable foundation she founded, so she decides to run it. She gradually finds herself and reconnects with herself along the way. Season 2 is where she begins her work at the charitable foundation. The first episode starts with Molly and Nicholas reaching the foundation to start Molly’s first day at work. However, Molly gets bored quickly and decides to take her co-workers on a trip to Miami as a “bonding retreat” but her plan is disrupted by a storm, forcing them to land in Oklahoma City. While they’re there, Nicholas reveals that the plan was made so that Molly can party with her friends. The co-workers are upset when they’re told this so they return home in a nasty mood. The next day, she apologizes to her team and supports Sofia in a meeting. They all bond later on and Sofia shares her story of what inspired her to pursue social work.
Star Performance
Maya Rudolph acts excellently and can capture Molly’s peculiar personality that is a mix of self-centeredness and naivety, but she also feels emotions tremendously.
Analysis
Initially, it feels like the episodes are taking too much time to pick up the pace, it feels as though there was too much focus on the post-divorce trip. However, that changes gradually and by the end of the season she has immense personality development. Once Molly starts work in the charitable foundation (from the second season), it gets a lot more interesting as that’s when more challenges come her way and even the workplace comedy increases, increasing the show’s entertainment value. In the beginning, Maya’s personality is predictable and shallow. The relationship between Maya and Sofia is especially interesting because they are like the yin and yang. The visuals and soundtracks are excellent.

Verdict
The second season has loads of entertainment and drama to keep audiences engaged. This show is for different people, especially those who simply want to watch something to keep them entertained.
