Weird, True and Freaky is an English language TV show that airs on the channel Animal Planet from 7 September 2008 to 23 November 2010. The show aired for 3 seasons and 65 episodes, each lasting for about 22 minutes. The show is narrated by Beau Weaver and produced by Hoff Productions. As the name suggests, the show features weird, freaky, unknown, but very real facts about animals. Scientists have repeatedly said that what has been discovered on earth is a drop and an ocean waiting to be discovered. This show presents all such animal-related discoveries and their peculiar traits for the viewers to see, learn, and enjoy.
Every act of the animal is analysed in depth by some of the experts, including Stanford University animal expert Dr. Jill Helms and Dr. Sophia Yin, exotic animal specialist Dave Riherd, snake wrangler Jason C. McElroy, before including it in the show. Some of the animal encounters featured on the show are; Mongoose fighting a lioness, spider residing in a woman’s ear, a spider shedding its exoskeleton, rat vs. Cat face-off, herd of elephants rescuing a baby elephant from a lion, python putting a dog in an unbreakable hold,
turkeys marching around a dead cat, snake ambushing a bat, a lady housing 600 cats, two legged dog, a black cloud formed by a swarm of flies, humpback whale saving a diver from a tiger shark, vampire bats, sparkling spider, an adopted baby hippo orphan, lion adopting an antelope, human ears attached to a mouse, rare parasite Gongylonema pulchrum in a man’s mouth, crocodile mob hunting, 4 story python, dog paralysed from a neck bite, coyote helps create a life-saving serum from spider venom, a wall covered with a colony of hundreds of spider legs, curing asthma with fish in Hyderabad, a family adopted cats and trained them for a family circus, birds invading Australia, cannibal infanticide, lion cannibals, chimpanzee cannibals, venomous serpent handling in the name of god.
