NCIS is an American action police procedural television series. The show released on 23 September 2003 and with 16 seasons, it is the second-longest-running scripted television series. The show follows the fictional team of the Washington-based Naval Criminal Investigative Service Major Case Response Team (MCRT), special agents.
This elite arm of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service spearheads any investigation relating to crimes committed by any Navy or Marine personnel. NCIS has been the most-watched show scripted shows on American television since season 7 along with winning various awards and nominations including the ALMA Awards, ASCAP Awards, BMI Film & TV Awards, Emmy Awards, and People's Choice Awards.
