The Adventures of Montu Miah, also known as Montu Miar Ovijan, is a 3D animated series produced by Softedge Limited. It aired on Ekushey Television, a Bangladeshi tv channel, between 2000 and 2002. Ekushey Television and Softedge Limited signed a 13-episode deal, but only three episodes aired due to Ekushey Television closing on August 29, 2002. The main character of this series is an ant living in the countryside of Bangladesh. He wears a lungi, a symbol of the rural of Bangladesh. Insects represent the protagonists and villains of the series. In every episode, someone from the community of Montu Miah falls into the trap of a villain, and Montu comes to rescue them.
He protects rural populations and fights corruption, crime, and social injustice. In the 13 episodes, Montu Miah grapples with child abduction, medical malpractice, and abusive behavior by the rich toward the poor, among other things. This show is to raise awareness about common issues in Bangladesh. In the history of Bangladesh, Adventures of Montu Miah is the first 3D animation series. Montu Miah is considered the first tv superhero who fights alongside the poor and defenseless in Bangladesh. Most episodes end with the villain's downfall and a happy ending for the protagonists.
