The film mainly captures Vivekananda's life from birth, and he returned from the West to India. The film begins with Narendranath Datta’s birth and shows the neighbors and relatives of the Datta family celebrating the event. He immediately moves to the scene where Narendranath sees his father, Vishwanath Datta, giving money, clothes, and food to poor and distressed people.

Seeing this, young Narendranath asks his father for something to give him, and his father tells him to look in a mirror. Following his father's suggestion, Narendranath goes to the bedroom and sees his image in the mirror. Different events of child Narendranath takes place in this show. His mother melodiously recited religious scriptures, which left a mark on his young mind, Narendranath practicing meditation, his mother teaching him that experience is correct knowledge, and his interest in studying a wide range of subjects. The young Narendranath attended university, where he familiarized himself with European literature and contemporary social and religious movements. He also joins Brahmo Samaj. But there, Young Narendranath discovers that the leader, who proposes to others to resist child marriage, arranges the marriage of his underage daughter with a wealthy person himself.

He goes to Tagore and asks him if he has seen God. Tagore confesses that he did not have this experience and tells Narendranath that he had Yogi's eyes. He meets Ramakrishna at a friend's house, where Narendranath sings a Bina Prem Dhiraj Nahi devotional song. Ramakrishna is impressed by Narendranath's song and asks him to visit the Dakshineswar Kali Temple, where Ramakrishna was based. Following Ramakrishna's invitation, Narendranath visits Dakshinewsar. The relationship between Ramakrishna and Narendranath has become good as he initially rejects Ramakrishna but gradually accepts him as his Guru. Ramakrishna teaches him the real meaning of religion and finding God. After Ramakrishna's death, Narendranath takes the formal monastic vow and becomes a Sannyasi and a wandering monk. In Alwar, he meets Raja Mangal Singh, to whom he tells that Hindu idol worship is a symbolic form of worship.
