Theethum Nandrum is a talk-show that airs on Makkal TV, a Tamil television channel, every Sunday at 2 pm. The show is hosted by Dr. Shalini. Theethum Nandrum features a group of people discussing ongoing social events. The studio set has a stage in front of about a hundred chairs, which are occupied by participants. The participants mostly belong to one college or any sort of community. The host first introduces the panel, the special guest, and the day’s topic. Then, the panel members are allowed to voice their opinions and concerns on the given topic. The panel is selected in such a way that they are either directly influenced or directly affected by the topic in question.
Once they have finished with their speech, the host summarizes the important points that are gathered from everyone’s speech. She then tries to find the solution for those problems by taking the help of the panel and the special guest. One such topic of discussion was sexual harassment faced by the female students in colleges both by their fellow students and by the staff. The show helps the public know about the adversities faced by the youth, mainly women, and to do their part in helping them.
