She has a friend Gomathi, who was sent to Vijay's palace for one night as her father was not able to pay debts. After the incident, Vijay extends one year to pay debts, but Gomathi's family doesn't accept her in fear of society. Thus, she leaves the village. Ammu gets upset and decides to take revenge against Vijay. Rajamanickam, father of Gomathi, and his family gets upset as Vijay sets fire on their farm to snatch the land from him. Sumati tries to kill her family so that they could not die of hunger.

Ammu goes to the palace to meet Urmila, wife of Vijay, as she is kind-hearted. On the way, Vijay finds her and gets attracted to her. He tries to get her in his life but eventually fails. So he decides to arrange a marriage between Radha and Ammu, eventually, soon after marriage, she discovers that Radha is Vijay's servant. After marriage, he again tries to get her but fails. On knowing that Radha loves Ammu, he kills him. Urmila, upon knowing the true intentions of Vijay, she leaves the house and, helps Ammu to escape. Sumathi sends away Ammu to Meerut to save from Vijay. She reaches the given address, which finds out to be a mansion. Sunanda and, Harsh along with their joint family, reside there.

She mistakes Ammu as a maid and gives her the duties. Soon it is revealed that Ammu is the daughter of Sunanda, where in the past, Sunanda's mother gives away Ammu to Sumathi as she needs a son. Sunanda's family couldn't accept the truth, which makes her run away from home. On the way, Sunanda meets with an accident and, admitted to the hospital. Harsh apologizes to her and accepts Ammu as her daughter. A new character gets entered named Rohit, who looks similar to Vijay. Ammu thinks he is Vijay, who has come to take her. After several events, they both become friends and accept him as Rohit. Ammu and Rohit get married. In later episodes, it was revealed that Rohit is none other than Vijay. Ammu decides to stay and take revenge. She attempts many plots but fails. Meanwhile, Vijay saves her from many situations plotted by his nephew Punit. Vijay turns into a good man, who loves Ammu a lot. Punit tries to kill Vijay but gets saved by Ammu and, later, she shots him to death. Vijay takes the blame upon him and goes to jail. After the imprisonment is over, the couple leads a happy life and solves the village's problems together.
