Margadarshana is a Kannada TV show that airs on DD Chandana, a Kannada TV channel supported by Doordarshan. The host of this show is Dr. Viprav Sarthik, an astrologer, psychic and motivational speaker.
Margadarshana is a motivational show, where the host chooses one topic per day to talk about. He tells the audience how to deal with the events or disturbances they face in their daily life. His sayings are highly compelling, given his experience in the field. He gives a religious, traditional and astrological solution to every problem he talks about, which also includes certain breathing exercises to calm your nerves. He adds a few quotes and examples related to the topic, to help the viewers understand him better. He also gives a list of dos and don’ts in every episode. He ensures that one in every few episodes focuses on the problems faced by children with their families, schools and personal lives.
Some of the topics are; Train your brain, Education, Motivation and demotivation, and Relieving exam tension. In the episode of “Education”, he advised students to face towards the North or the East, saying that it helps concentrate better. He also emphasized how the psychology of a person affects their studies. In the episode of “Motivation and demotivation”, he used the concept of stage fear to illustrate that talent alone is not sufficient for a person to succeed in their life, and that motivation plays an equally important role, if not more. His preachings have shaped a lot of young minds and gave direction to a lot of confused adults.
