Filmfare Awards South is the South Indian segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group, which is a ceremony honoring the winners and nominees of the best of both artistic and technical excellence of professionals of South Indian cinema. The 66th edition of this award show was held on 21st December 2019 in Chennai at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Awards show was premiered on 26th January 2020 on Star Suvarna channel at 3:00 pm (IST). The awards were first given in the year 1953, and the ceremony used to be held along with the Bollywood Filmfare Awards, but later, a distinctive ceremony was started to be conducted. This show is also considered to be the Oscars of the South and is viewed as a prestigious award show.

Some of the highlights of this show included the ‘Award for Best Film’, which was won by the Kannada movie ‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’, a super-hit and amazing movie.
