Plot
A village that neither fully supports superstitions is nor against them, feels the daily existence of it. However, the villagers feel the existence of Kolideva. Shiva, a suspended cop, is transferred to this village, which appears to be a low-crime region. Shiva is emotionally disturbed. His presence brings changes gradually. Siddhaya Swami is the spiritual authority who controls the village. Under his influence, omens are treated as warnings. In a situation, the village witnesses the deaths and disappearances. What happened next forms the rest of the story.
Star Performance
Raj B Shetty did a good job as usual. His emotional performance is stunning. Swathishta’s performance is amazing, despite her limited screen time. Archana Kottige’s performance is fine as a single mother. She is good at emotional scenes. Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Jahangir, Suresha, and Aniruddh Bhat excelled in their roles. Especially Aniruddh is good at emoting, and overtook everyone with his natural performance.
Analysis
The storyline is not new, but the screenplay is pretty decent. The first half takes time in establishing the social hierarchies and people’s behaviour. The second half picks up the pace, and it has enough twists and a good pre-climax. The twists make the audience keep on guessing the next. The psychological elements are quite impressive, and the antagonist is revealed only in the climax. A few characters are underdeveloped, and certain scenes are repeated. The BGM is excellent, and the emotional moments are handled well by Arjun Janya. The visuals are perfect, and the editing is pretty decent.
