‘Pokémon: Black & White’ is the fourteenth season of the Pokémon animated series, covering the continuing adventures of series protagonist Ash Ketchum as he travels to the new region of Unova. In Japan, this is the first portion of the ‘Pocket Monsters: Best Wishes!’
Brock and Dawn have left the series, and Ash is joined by a new female trainer named Iris and a new male trainer named Cilan. The evil syndicate Team Rocket has a part to play in this season, and Jessie, James, and Meowth have been promoted.
Upon their release, Black and White received convinced reviews; critics lauded the improvements in gameplay, as well as several of the new Pokémon, introduced. The two sequels to Pokémon Black and White were called Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 and were premiered in Japan in June 2012. ‘Pokémon: The Series- Black and White’ is also referred by fans as “Best Wishes Series” and in India it was telecast on June 17th, 2013. Various modifications were added, including new voices for the narrator.
Instead of following the original order, Pogo channel skipped the episodes ‘The Dragon Master’s Path’ and ‘Cilan Versus Trip, Ash Versus Georgia’ due to reasons unknown. The channel ended the season with the season finale,’ Battle for the Underground’. It was divided into three seasons for audiences outside of Japan. The show continued until September 2014 on Pogo Channel.
