Starplus surprises everyone by bringing a show that basically depicts the lives of many girls and guys out there. A show called “DHAI KILO PREM” created an excitement not only among the housewives but also the young generation by the interesting concept it showcases.
The female protagonist, DEEPIKA MISHRA is an epitome of an idol daughter, yet, criticized by everyone. The reason for this is her weight and obesity. In spite of being beautiful, talented and SANSKARI, her mother, Ragini Mishra always has frowns on her forehead with the worries of her daughter’s obesity and marriage. Her father, instead, is very caring towards her daughter. He brings out a fun element in the show. He would try finding opportunities to feed her daughter all her favorite delicacies while keeping it as a secret from his wife. Deepika is a strong, opinionated young girl, who wants to marry a man who has no problem with her body, accepts her the way she is and loves to eat food.

The show originates from the city of Agra and is given a retro feel by indicating an environment that of a typical idol Indian society which looks like a replica of the films by Rajshri Productions in the 90s. This fact makes it a bit unrealistic in the dysfunctional society of the modern day.
Like any other Hindi daily soap, this show too has a “vamp” and the role is played by none other than KISHWER MERCHANT. Finally, she back on TV and as felt the screen and audience mesmerized with her acting skills. She perfectly fits into the role of Shilpa who is a complete opposite of our protagonist.
