Plot
Indu is an orphan. She forms a close bond with her schoolmate Sandhya, whose father informally adopts her. However, their friendship is tested when Rajeev arrives in their lives. Indu wants to separate the two lovers, but at what cost?

has delivered a compelling thriller. He has made smooth transitions from fun and frolic to a gripping thriller, with viewers wondering about the next turn.
The acting performances are also equally impressive. Following an impressive outing with ‘Atharva,’ he is back with another good performance. The bonding between the two lady leads, i.e. Mokksha and Sherry Agarwal is equally good. Mokksha as the obsessive lover leaves a lasting impression.
Analysis
Obsessive love is something that is not uncommon in Indian cinema. However, what makes ‘I Hate You’ is the focus on the female protagonists instead of their male counterparts. The sudden transition of Indu from a naïve orphan to an obsessive lover, ready to wreck everything apart, is something that the viewers will look forward to.
The reason is a simple, but effective narrative on display by writer and director Anjee Ram. He has ensured that the audiences are intrigued with every passing moment, and don’t feel put off.
Of course, the star cast is relatively new. However, none of the performances, including that of the supporting cast, is underwhelming. Karthik Raju as the playboy lover does his part well, complemented by the performances of both Sherry Agarwal and Mokksha. It is the performance of Mokksha, in the form of an obsessive lover, that stands out. For a relatively inexperienced actor, Rahul Jagtap has delivered a surprisingly decent performance.
Yes, the technical details, including editing in some places could have been better. But if you had negligible expectations from this film, you may find ‘I Hate You’ to be a welcome surprise in many ways.

‘I Hate You’ is the reverse case of a better film nearly ruined by an underwhelming trailer. Contrary to expectations, writer cum director Anjee Ram delivered an engaging thriller. The acting by both the lead, as well as the supporting star cast, is equally impressive. If you want an entertaining thriller, ‘I Hate You’ might just be the one.
