Plot

The film starts with a village named Bedurulanka. The villagers hear that the world is going to end soon. All people are frightened that the world will end on December 21, 2012, due to a natural disaster. The village Bhushanam (Ajay Ghosh) prepares a plan to make a profit from this situation. He takes the help of Brahm (Srikanth Iyengar), a village Brahmin, and Daniel ( Ram Prasad Telugu film director G.Ram Prasad belongs to Guntu >> Read More... ), the church father’s son. Both of them frighten the people more. They tell the village’s president (Goparaju Ramana) that to stop the world’s end, they should melt down all the gold to create a Shiva lingam and a cross. After this, it has to be left in the Ganga river. All the people agree to give their gold except Shiva (Karthikeya), a young, educated man. He opposes it and calls it a false religious belief. Moreover, Shiva also loves the president’s daughter, Chitra (Neha Shetty). Will the village president ask Shiva to leave the village? How is Shiva going to destroy the religious beliefs of the people? What will happen to the love story between Shiva and Chitra?

Star Performance

Karthikeya delivered a powerful performance. His expressions and dialogue delivery are mind-blowing. He entertains the viewers with his comedy and action-packed scenes. After the film Raja Vikramarka and the RX 100, Karthikeya gave an energetic performance in this film too. He looks very realistic on screen. Neha Shetty played a little role, but she left no chance to spread her charm. She looks beautiful on the screen. She gave an outstanding performance. Ajay Ghosh looks good in his evil character. His dialogue delivery is superb. Srikanth Iyengar and Auto Ram Prasad gave a wonderful performance. Ajay and Srikanth entertain the viewers through their comedy. Vennela Kishore, the news reader, also makes the viewers laugh through his news of the world’s end.

Analysis

The concept of Bedurulanka is very unique. The film reminds us of the same situation which happened in 2012. The people were terrified similarly. It highlights the themes of greed, false beliefs, and terror. It shows how people are misguided in the name of religion and how religious saints take advantage of innocent people. Besides terrifying, the film also makes the viewers laugh in some scenes. The narration is outstanding and holds the film firmly. The second half is more gripping as it entertains and develops terror among the viewers.

The entry of Satya and Vennela Kishore in the second half makes the film interesting. The film also has a love story, but it is not explored in depth. The cast of this film gave fantastic performances. The cinematographer excellently captures the beauty of Bedurulanka village. The music and the background score match the film’s theme. The introduction of village and hero seems to be very long. Due to this reason, the film becomes boring in the first half. The concept of the world’s end is good, but it is not developed perfectly.
