Plot
Patel is dominating the village. He never wants the village people to get proper education and come up in life. Ganga is a shepherd who cares for Balamma Pottel. He aims to expose Patel’s original face to everyone and also wishes to make his daughter get her education. One day, he loses Balamma Pottel. On hearing this, Patel gets angry and warns Ganga to get back the Pottel. If not, he had to lose his daughter. What happened to Balamma Pottel? Did Ganga save his daughter? The rest of the film explains these.
Star Performance
Yuva Chandra is okay in the given role. Ajay excels in his role as an antagonist. His expressions and the Telangana slang are fantastic. Ananya has a strong role and she impresses the audience with her natural performance. Her combination scenes with Ajay are shot well. Srikanth Iyengar is pretty decent as a teacher.
Analysis
The film’s main theme is education and the eradication of the caste system. It also speaks about the Patel clan, who ruled the people, once. The flashback scenes are neatly shot. The production design is excellent, and the visuals are neat, too. The film has enough dad-daughter sentiments, which would touch the people who love watching family relationships. The climax scenes are executed well without losing logic. Though there are many plus points, the main weak point in the film is editing. The film’s length should have been trimmed from ten to twenty minutes. A few scenes related to politics are lengthy, boring, and outdated, too. Similarly, the scenes related to the antagonist and the protagonist could have been shaped up well. Those scenes lack grip. The screenplay should have been written better. The BGM is decent and helps even some dull scenes to get elevated.

Except for a few outdated scenes and the length, Pottel provides a decent watch. If you love watching rural thrillers that address socio-political issues, you can give this a try!Â
