Her performance in Anjaam, in which she enacted the role of a prison warden, fetched her much critical acclaim. That film had Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh in the lead.Â
The 1981 flick Tu Mujhe Jaan is a notable film in Kalpana’s career. The song Tumhara Pyar Chahiye Mujhe Jeene Ke Liye is a great romantic track featuring Kalpana. Hari Om Hari is also one of her famous dance numbers. Pardesi, Pardesi is a song from the flick Raja Hindustani, which gave Kalpana much recognition. Kalpana Iyer had a brief stint in television, pop singing and shows (performing dancing and singing). She played a negative role in Chandrakanta, a television serial and it was appreciated.Â
Kalpana’s affair with Amjad Khan, yesteryear villain of Bollywood, was in the news. Currently she manages a restaurant in Dubai, UAE.
