Well, let’s see how the movie Gugan with new faces has turned out to be.
The mother of Aravind Kalathar is a renowned cop in Kumbakonam. His father is an artist. Since they are busy with their profession, they are not able to provide Aravind with the much-needed love. Hence, Aravind spends most of his time with his friends. Once his friends turn against him and get him caught in an eve-teasing case which Aravind’s mother handles.
Aravind mother who gets angry with this beats him on the road and humiliates him. Visibly offended, Aravind leaves his house and goes to a nearby place. He gets a job in Naren’s place and is also smitten by his daughter,
In the meantime, Aravind’s mother comes to his place in search of him and asks him to return. But Aravind hesitates to return with her. What happens later? Does Aravind win his love? Watch the movie to know.
Aravind, for a newcomer, does a pretty good job, especially in scenes where he longs for affection. Sushma is energetic and shines in the scenes where she shares screen space with her onscreen father. Naren does a commendable job while Singampuli evokes laughter.
Azhagappan, who is the director of this film, could have a given a better film. However, the film fails in execution.
The cinematography of Arul is quite ok.
What’s not there?
The music of Guru Kalyan is not very impressive.
The movie touted to be a family entertainer with a message, works only in bits and pieces.
