Plot

A palace is full of ghosts who don’t know to get out of the place. They also don’t know how they died. The palace is built by King Veera Sethupathi for his wife Annabelle in the 1940s. Both of them are killed. In 2021, Rudra, who gets attracted to the palace enters to check if it is haunted. She realizes that she has some similarities with Annabelle. Soon, she feels that she has some power and decides to set the spirits in the palace free. What did she do? Was she successful with her attempt? The rest of the story deals with this.

Star Performance

Vijay Sethupathi impresses the audience even though he comes on screen for a limited time. Taapsee Pannu is good as usual. The rest of the stars, Radhika, Rajendra Prasad, Yogi Babu, and others, had done what was required.

Analysis

The director planned to make a full-fledged comedy film with the ghosts, unlike the previous ghost-hits. But, he missed the logic in many places. Though it was intended to impress all-age groups, including the kids, we can say that it didn’t do so due to its weak sequences. But, the film has a lot of famous stars, which is why the audience manages to sit in front of the screens till the end. Although situational comedy works out well, some of them are like body-shaming the stars. The cinematography and BGM are okayish.

Verdict

The director should have gone for a better screenplay with a bunch of famous stars and an idea to release the film in multiple languages. The film struggles a bit; only the artists make the audience sit throughout the film. Annabelle Sethupathi – watchable for favorite stars!
