Plot

Section 306 IPC is about the death of Aswathy Meleppatt (Mareena Michael). The film is set in Chengottukavu village and starts with the famous Thira festival. Everything goes smoothly, but soon things turn dark. The next day after the Thira festival, Aswathy Meleppatt, a well-known writer of the village, dies by suicide. She was warned by a man during the Thira festival. Considering this, her boyfriend, Pavan (Rahul Madhav), files a case against the man doing the Thira ritual. Advocate Ramdas (Renji Panicker ) fights the case and tries to bring justice to Aswathy.

Why did Aswathy kill herself by suicide? Is the man at the Thira festival responsible for her death? Will Advocate Ramdas bring justice to Aswathy?

Star Performance

Renji Panicker gave a mind-blowing performance. His performance is the best as compared to other cast members. His dialogue delivery, especially in the court scenes, is very appealing to the viewers.

Sreejith Varma, who is also a producer of this film, perfectly played the character of a police officer. His investigation scenes are worth watching. He also does a fight scene, which entertains the viewers greatly.

Savithri Sredharan's Thirichu Po dialogue cannot stop the viewers from laughing. Shanthi Krishna Versatile and talented, Shanthi Krishna is an actr >> Read More... looks fantastic as a lawyer. Her arguments are superb.

Rahul Madhav, who played the character of Pavan, shows all the characteristics of a loving person. He tries to bring justice to his girlfriend till the end.

Analysis

The film Section 306 focuses on a set of rules called law. The director excellently mixes all the subplots. It shows how people commit suicide after facing discrimination from society. It also gives a message on mental health. Renji Panicker's performance, especially in the court scenes, is pleasant. The cinematography is attractive. The tight editing maintains the pace. The last half hour is superb when Renji Panicker and Shanthi Krishna argue over the case.

However, The story of the film is very outdated. After seeing the police and court scenes, it seems like the film had been made in the 1990s. The film's setting and concept appear at least 30 years old.
