Plot

The film is about the murder of social media fame. Police officer Dinesh (Vineeth Sreenivasan) investigates this murder. But he is unable to find the murderer. Dinesh suffers a lot of humiliation due to his failure in another case. He has not been promoted till now because of this reason. In order to restore his reputation in the media, he falsely accuses Hari (Shine Tom Chacko) of this murder. Hari worked in an IT company and now he is a newspaper boy. Hari was present at the place where the social media star died. Dinesh takes the help of Krishnan (Sreenivasan), known for providing false explanations in court.

Will the court punish Hari? Will Hari be able to free himself from these false allegations? Will Dinesh fail in his plan?

Star Performance

Vineeth Sreenivasan steals the film with his performance. His dialogue delivery is superb. The way he makes false allegations to gain the media’s attention makes the film impressive.

Sreenivasan gave a fantastic performance. His dialogue and comedy make the film engaging. His performance is very realistic. The father-son duo runs the whole film alone. Shine Tom Chacko excellently executed his part. His love chemistry with Malavika Mohan is appealing to the viewers. Srikanth Murali, who played the role of judge, makes the film entertaining through his comedy in the court scenes. Lawyer Dileep Menon looks overdramatic.

Analysis

Kurukkan is full of comedic and crime-investigation scenes. As the story progresses, we see clever people among the ordinary ones. From start to finish, the story does not appear to be boring at all. The courtroom scenes work like magic for the whole film. They are filled with funny scenes and entertain the viewers greatly. The suspenseful element keeps the audience guessing till the end. The lead cast adds strength to the film. The cinematography is outstanding. The court scenes are beautifully captured. 

However, people who take things seriously may not like this film. The first half does not create much impact. The comedy does not work in some scenes.

Kurukkan (fox) revolves around the cunningness of Vineeth Sreenivasan and Sreenivasan, making the title appropriate. A more perfect first half and direction could have taken the film to another level. However, if you desire to laugh, you must try Kurukkan.
