Plot:
Pappu Pisharody (Indrans) is a seventy-five-year old artiste. The story seeks its beginning at a hospital where Pappu is admitted. This old man is in search of his son named Sanjeevan and seeks help from the doctors there who in turn take help from the journalists to find his son who might be thirty-seven years old now. The journalists prove to be a great help in finding his son. Meanwhile, Pappu Pisharody gradually recovers from his injuries. He is friendly and has made friends with almost everyone at the clinic. Will they succeed in finding his son and make him happy? The film has lovely moments stored for the audience. We wouldn’t discuss the storyline any further and leave you all to thinking what would happen next in the story.
Analysis:
This film has fetched the best actor trophy to Indrans in the most prominent role, at the recently held Kerala State Awards. It makes a genuine attempt to deliver some unseen aspects in a film.
Star performance:
In a role that required utmost maturity in its character, Indrans has captivated a large audience with his performance and has set perfectly fit with the character. The supporting cast and crew have also performed with dedication and determination.
What’s there?
1. The plot has depth in its characters.
2. It is a complete package of a film that one would want to watch.
3. The direction has been very effective and so is the scripting.
What’s not there?
1. There is hardly evidence of something missing.
2. Though this was a novel written in 2008 and then transformed into a screenplay so couldn't pull off the depth.
3. Aalorukkam seems much more than its actual duration.
4. The movie has not kept up with the expectations.
Verdict:
Watch the film for Indrans’ marvelous performance. All in all the movie is a one-time watch and has many good moments for its viewers.
